Ilhaam Husain B.S.

Student Research Assistant

Ilhaam Husain is a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Psychology, a minor in Creative Writing, and a certificate in Health Humanities. With a background in research, community health, and advocacy, her work centers on promoting equity in education, health, and economic opportunity. She has contributed to diverse initiatives—from qualitative research in developmental psychology to youth health mentoring and poverty alleviation programming. Starting June 2025, she will serve as a Legislative Aide for the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, supporting policy efforts to advance social justice. Her long-term goals lie at the intersection of public policy and clinical psychology, with a focus on addressing childhood adversity and fostering systemic change through culturally responsive, community-rooted approaches.
